Club Meeting Minutes March 11 2014

show: 2397.82 includes 4200+ in paypal, 4030 in subscription payments
should be getting a few hundred from groupon
tablecloth cleaning expense $2200,

New Business

having sale in meeting to sell some supplies to help defray some costs of show

renew membership because memberships end at the end of March, must renew to be able to vote

Membership also now gives discount at Over the Top (Johnson Brothers’ store)

Reminder that anyone interested in running for officer needs to let Irene know by March 31.

lighting in venue (avoid dark spots on some cakes, competitors, vendors)
better signage and maps
more information on the website about where to go in venue
make it easier to find registration, more visible
make sure rooms are more clearly labelled possible over the doors
general directory poster listing vendors etc.
list raffle numbers on a big poster, get a PA
raffle list printouts
put more pictures of classes behind class registration
multiple t-shirt/club booths, perhaps another by registration, more visible
review of rules to address copying of cakes, new policies
put something on forms to list if you’re inspired by something
review rules for reworked entries
address skill classifications in divisions
if you’ve been to art school, you’re not a beginner
separate cookies and confections
vendor booth scavenger hunt, cake scavenger hunt, fundraiser, passport
encourage more vendor cake displays
display the tools in mystery box along with completed cakes and vendor listing
mini project onsite hands on table, for a price

volunteers need to know what the wristband of the day is
volunteers need to be empowered to ask for wristbands more
