Secondly, I heard on KUT this morning about the Texas Pie Kitchen, which trains low income adults in culinary skills. They need volunteer bakers to help out, so if you’re interested, click the link and find out more. Or maybe buy some pies. Mmmm, pies….
A baker in our community has had to stop baking due to a severe health issue and is trying to raise funds by selling her equipment:

Announcing two new classes coming this fall at the Amazing Kakes classroom taught by guest instructor Kimberly Chapman.
First is another Flexible, Edible Stained Glass class which this time will feature two small holiday-themed stained glass panels designed specifically for this class.
Sunday October 14th: 10-5pm $100
Next is a Mini Turkey Cake class which is a really good beginner-level class for those who want to learn about fondant, but will also have some tips suitable for intermediates and higher. Students will be making the smaller ones shown in the photo below, but it’s really easy to scale it up. Several club members were disappointed when a class on this cake was cancelled last year because of insufficient sign-ups before the deadline (a week before the class), so sign up now if you’re interested!
Sunday November 4, noon to 5 pm. $45
If you’re a club member and teaching a class, let us know so we can post it here for you!
